Welcome to the Excela Protect Corporation Website (“Website”); we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information collection procedures and use of such information by CGR A-OB Admin, LLC, DBA Excela Protect (“Excela Protect”). Protection of your information is a matter of significant importance to Excela Protect and its affiliates. We appreciate the trust that you have in us, and we protect that trust by continuing to respect the privacy of all Website users and contract holders. 

Certain Information is Collected Automatically, When You Visit the Website to Read or Browse Through the Website Material.
“Cookies” are text files placed in your computer’s browser to store certain preferences and information, which may enhance your browsing experience on the Website. Excela Protect does not use Cookies to track or collect personal identification information from website users. If you desire, instructions for your browser will allow you to make certain settings on your computer to warn you before a Cookie is stored, block all Cookies, or erase Cookies from your hard drive. Excela Protect utilizes “Google Analytics” a service provided by Google to collect and store basic data for website traffic, including but not limited to, browser type and device used, location and user agent string. The information stored from Google Analytics does not include personally identifiable information. 

Your Information is Collected When You Complete an Online Form.
You may choose to fill out certain forms or online data requests, which provide your name, phone number, e-mail address and related information. Excela Protect uses this information to respond to your questions and requests, and in some cases to pass the information through to third parties for appropriate action. All the consumer input and customer data collected by Excela Protect is stored to a secure content management system on Excela Protect-owned servers to protect against unauthorized use and access. The information is only accessible by those with administrative rights to the content management system. Excela Protect does not sell or license personal information to third parties. 

Your Information is Collected When You Purchase a Contract from Excela Protect.
Excela Protect collects information that is necessary to review, process or service requests for products, benefits, or other services. For example, Excela Protect collects vehicle information to determine eligibility for coverage and benefits under the service contract. Excela Protect respects your privacy and values the protection of your nonpublic, personal information. The personal information that is collected by Excela Protect is obtained on the registration page of the contract, and any associated claim and cancellation notices, if any. Excela Protect requests information such as your name, address, phone number and email address. Additional information about your vehicle including the Selling Dealer and lienholder is also collected in connection with your purchase of the service contract.  

How Excela Protect Discloses Information:
Excela Protect shares your personal information only to third parties such as regulatory authorities, the Selling Dealership, claim services personnel and other third parties engaged by Excela Protect or you to provide roadside assistance, vehicle inspections and repairs, and service contract financing. As part of internal processes Excela Protect may share your personal information with Independent Sales Representatives. This information is sometimes shared to render additional services to you, including: to respond to a court order or subpoena; prevent fraud; security and compliance; collections; and to analyze data about our products and programs. 

How Excela Protect Protects Your Information:
Excela Protect restricts access to information to those employees who need to know to provide the services set forth in the service contract. Excela Protect regularly reviews its security measures and employee education programs to help protect information. Excela Protect also has physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in place to protect the information it receives. When Excela Protect shares information with third parties, Excela Protect requires that they have standards to keep this information private. This privacy policy continues to apply even when your relationship with Excela Protect has terminated. 

Special Note to Parents:
Excela Protect’s website is restricted to persons 13 years or older. Excela Protect has no intention of collecting any personal information, voluntary or involuntary, from children or any person below the age of 13.

Definitions:

  • CGR A-OB Admin, LLC, DBA Excela Protect (“Excela Protect”) – Excela Protect is the administrator of the service contract. 
  • Selling Dealer – Means the dealership, including its assigns and successors, which issued or sold you the service contract which this Privacy Notice is subject to. 
  • Affiliate – Means a company related by common ownership or control. 
  • Independent Sales Representative – Means unaffiliated representatives of Excela Protect who work with and hold relationships with the Selling Dealer and Excela Protect collectively. 
  • Nonaffiliates – Means companies not related by common ownership or control.
